NEW ZEALAND AGENCY’S PROMOTION
FOR
SMIRNOFF HONORED AS ‘BEST OF BEST' AT 2002 GLOBE AWARDS
From a Record Field of 1,200 Entries and 147 Finalists, Pacific
Rim Agencies Take Best In Class in 6 of 17 Categories.
MIAMI, USA (OCT. 28) – A campaign for Smirnoff
by WOW Rapp Collins, the New Zealand unit of Rapp Collins Worldwide,
was honored as ‘Best Promotion in the World’ tonight
at the 2002 GLOBES Awards by members of the newly named Marketing
Agency Association (MAA) Worldwide (formerly APMAW). The same campaign
won top honors for: Best Use of
Advertising, Most Innovative Communication Strategy and Best use
of New Media.
Wow Rapp Collins, New Zealand, had also came top in: Best Use of
Direct Marketing for their
promotion for Clorax.
From a list that was narrowed to 147 finalists last
month from a record total of more than 1,200 entries earlier in
the year, campaigns created by agencies in New Zealand and Singapore
seemed to dominate the competition this year, taking top honors
in 6 of 17 categories.
Agencies from 28 countries participated in the GLOBES
Awards this year, with top honors going to agencies in Belgium,
Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, the U.K and
the U.S.
Counting Gold, Silver and Bronze along with the Best
in Class awards, a total of 44 were presented.
Also from Australia, Mike Da Silva, of MDSA LTD, accepted
the 2002 International Marketing Professional of the Year award
